Heirs of Neverland Volume One: A Retake on Peter Pan

 One question: WHY is this NOT a movie yet?!?! 🍿🎥🎬🤩

I stinkin fell in love with the characters. Ahh and for Swanson to write a beautiful Peter Pan story from a Christian perspective without the reader knowing?? It was amazing! 

I love how each author has a different style, and for Swanson, she deals with such hard topics and deep emotional grief that it can truly speak to someone’s soul. You can clearly see her passion for those who feel burnt out, not enough, or like they’re drowning in fear. And then to see how her characters rise up… I cannot WAIT for Shadow!! 

✍️The writing itself was spectacular, I throughly enjoyed it. The picture painted by words of a gorgeous yet dangerous fairytale that seems perfect until it’s broken. The light that’s dim, but still there. And the sweet excitement that comes with growing feelings between two characters. It’s a beautiful dynamic! Swoony — in an otherworldly, magical way. 

🇬🇧And the British humor 🤣 bloomin’ hilarious! I think I laughed out loud every time Peter said blasted heck. I loved it! 

✨The characters were so different, each with their own darkness, and each with their own light. Priceless dual POV, with mysterious backgrounds and intriguing twists. I am so impressed with how Kara Swanson carried on the amazing story in its original form, but then added a completely new sequel that makes me crave more! 

I am not a huge fantasy reader, and I don’t LOVE books that deal with really hard themes, because they are often dark. But Kara really takes it to the next level, meanwhile keeping it an incredibly delightful read. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

CHARACTERS - short take - 

Claire — you poor, poor girl. The trauma she’s endured is insane, and yet, I love her journey as she figures out she’s worthwhile, loved, and not the end of all things. She’s inspiring, and reading her story was brilliant!💘🪄 🧚‍♀️

Ben — gotta love him. He’s boyish, playful, and sometimes irresponsible and negligent. But he’s lovable. I might be a bit more of an explanation on his love life though👀… but! I can’t wait to watch him grow, even more.🍀🧚‍♂️ 🌟

Tiger Lily — one word: QUEEN. She is just 🫶🫶🫶 There was never a moment I doubted her, she played the role of warrior, best friend, mother, sister, and queenie so darn well. She’s confident, well-spoken, unintentionally funny! And I would not want to be on her bad side. Girlie uses that staff like nobody’s business. AMAZING!👸🧚‍♀️🌠🐅🌌
