Oh who am I kidding, there’s no possibility of hiding my excitement over this book…
SO… WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?
Fair warning, I’m in a bit of a shock because there is no stinking way that Chuck Black, in all his brilliant writing, just left me with THAT CLIFFHANGER. 😱
And yet, here I am, writing a review, with no Episode Nine in sight. (Yes, 8 just came out… I’m impatient.)
First off, how BEAUTIFUL is this COVER?! It is simply amazing, and one of the MANY things that I look forward to when a new book in The Starlore Legacy series is coming out. The artistry never fails, inside and outside the novel! 😍
I already don’t even know where to start; I could spend wayyy too much time praising this book, and the whole series! 🙈
Ever since starting this series several years ago, I’ve personally met Chuck Black several times and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to him speak in various podcasts and writing conventions! His words have always captured my full attention, and through his books I have found such an admiration for biblical stories and sci-fi adventures! 📖🚀
📚✝️ The Starlore Legacy series is a Biblical Allegory that tells the story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, all in the fantastic world of sci-fi/space opera in a futuristic galaxy! To those who aren’t Christian or don’t know the Bible, this series is purely a crazy-good read, bound to take you on the adventure truly of a lifetime. However, to those who DO know their Bible, you can read this series with a new light, and experience an even greater pull toward Christ and His Truth. It is even tricky enough and vague enough that you really have to dive deep to tell which book in the Bible is being displayed.

💌I have been so incredibly impacted by the events that go on in these books, the lives these characters experience, the never-ending passion to serve the LORD once they’ve found Him, and the relationships that are formed and forged by intense battles, hard circumstances, persecution, joy, and friendship.
✝️This series not only makes you go back and dive into the stories you might have heard a million times with such a renewed interest, but also to grow closer to God because of how He is good, in books and outside of them! It’s why I recommend this series to anyone who will listen to be rant about it! It’s THAT amazing!!
So, with all of that information, I really can’t go that detailed into the plot and storyline of this particular novel, Journey, since it IS number eight in the series.
‼️(And yes, it matters a lot to the rest of the series. Like I said, allegory).‼️
However, I can most certainly say NO ONE will ever regret choosing this series to read. (If you do…something is wrong with you and not the book. Don’t sue me🤷♀️). And—even though I believe it to be physically impossible to just read the first book and not continue the series—I beg of you to KEEP GOING if you’re stuck on the first one. Which you will not be, by the way. Sorry—I’m not sorry—the cliffhangers leave it inevitably game-changing.

🪐Journey brings us back to life with a thrilling chase throughout the whole galaxy, inner planets and outer planets! We get to experience firsthand how the main character, a young man with a complicated past, deals with immense grief and pain, as well as the morning of new beginnings and future joy. A story of redemption right alongside intergalactic love and adventure! Doesn’t get any better, right?
❤️The romantic relationships that Chuck Black creates never cease to bring tears to my eyes. I’m not even joking, they are beautiful. I adore each character, and it is not even a question as to whether you’ll become attached to them or not. It’s ride or die. If anyone was looking for relationship standards, here’s where you’ll find heart-warming bonds that aren’t broken, even when they are galaxies apart. I’d call it swoony, but I don’t think it measures up to these narratives. 💞
Okay, I’ll quit chatting. Like I said before, I will go on and on. Time for the fun stuff!!
✨CHARACTERS✨ — very brief ones though, can’t risk spoiling anything!
Ledger — my main man… it’s been a tough go for you recently, but this novel is so fitting for you! Guys, him as the main character has been a treat. Can’t wait to see you rise up and continue in the ways of Sovereign Ell Yon!
Zara — yes, yes yes. I LOVE her! I mean, all the women are amazing in this series, and I adore each one. They are all fighters. There are no weak characters. I am so happy for Zara. She’s finding her own way! Cannot wait to see her in future books!
Corbin — gotta love him. Loyal friend forever. Such a neat guy, especially when you get to know him… Woo-hoo! Hope to see him in later books!
Arn — gotta love him too. Wonderful friend, comrade in arms, and supporter. It’s been a pleasure getting to read about him and the work he is doing for the good of God’s people!
‼️Everyone else would probably spoil something, even though I love each of them, I’ll save them for you all to get to know them yourselves!! It is so worth it!‼️

🌶️Spice/sexual/innuendo — Absolutely none! Like, one kiss, not described. Focuses more on inner feelings and strong friendships that lead to feelings.
🩸Violence — Pretty non-descriptive for YA sci-fi/fantasy. Deadly threats, murder attempts, massacre, not described. Death by asteroid, not described.
🤬Language — Absolutely none. It is a Biblical, futuristic, Christian fiction space saga. No profanity, no swearing/cursing. Nothing else.
🏳️🌈LGBTQ — Absolutely none. Oh heck no. Of course not. Absolutely none. Again, Biblical Christian fiction!
🙏🏻✝️God/Spirituality — Lots of God! Amen and amen! He is good! 🙌🏻 God is displayed as Sovereign Ell Yon in this series, and his angels are the Malakian Warriors. Satan (the devil) is C’fir Dracus and his demons are the Torians.
